Eagle Aviary at Wildlife Safari Park
Omaha, NE, Sep. 3, 2010 - The new Eagle Aviary at Wildlife Safari Park will be dedicated today at 10:30 a.m. following the pelican parade and release. The Eagle Aviary is completed in partnership with the Nebraska Environmental Trust Fund, the Omaha Zoo Foundation and Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo.
Sixteen Pelicans on Display at Wildlife Safari Park
Omaha, NE, Sep. 3, 2010 - Sixteen American white pelicans will be on display today at Wildlife Safari Park. All of the birds are rehabilitated, non-releasable birds. Most of them have a wing injury which restricts their flight.

Fossa Pups Now On Display at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo
Omaha, NE, Aug. 27, 2010 - Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo has two new fossa pups born on June 26, 2010, on display in the Nursery. The mother is nine years old and the father is ten years old, both from Madagascar and can be seen on display in Kingdoms of the Night®.
New Amur Tiger Cub at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo
Omaha, NE, Aug. 20, 2010 - A new female tiger cub, born June 22, 2010, will be on display in the Cat Complex beginning today. The new cub weighed 4.84 pounds at birth. Her mother is Tiksi, 15 years old and her father is Yorgi, 14 years old, are both on display in the Cat Complex. This is the first cub born at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo for both parents.
Naming Contest Winner Participates in Sea Lion Training
Omaha, NE, Aug. 13, 2010 - Hailey Hansen, winner of the Sea Lion Pup Naming Contest, will participate in the sea lion training today, Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Hailey selected the name Gemini which was chosen by the sea lion keepers out of 5,686 name submissions.
Critter Ride
Omaha, NE, Aug. 4, 2010 - Bring your friends and family to bike through Omaha’s Zoo and be a part of our 4th annual Critter Ride on August 12, 2010 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Participants of the 2010 Critter Ride will go on a two hour journey through the Zoo, while enjoying dinner, snacks, desserts and refreshments provided by Omaha Steaks, Frito Lay, Sara Lee and McDonalds.

Happy Birthday Hadari
Omaha, NE, Jul. 27, 2010 - Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo celebrated Hadari’s first birthday! Zoo guests were invited to take part in the party with dessert provided by Shari Preister with Cuppy Cakes while Hadari received presents and a special cake prepared by the Zoo’s Nutrition Department. Dan Houser, Curator of Large Mammals, was available for questions.
